1904 Plaza School (Vincent)Description
The 1904 Plaza School class, taught by Frances Ellerhorst (far right), attended a small schoolhouse on Pear Street. Samuel and Raphaela Tennent donated the land for the school. The school was demolished in 1933. Frances Ellerhorst spent her entire adult life as a teacher and principal in Pinole. Ellerhorst School in Pinole Valley is named after her. The United States Post Office, built on the site of the Plaza School, opened in 1960.Copyright
