Description

7 1/2 " x 11 1/2 " paper World War 1 or World War 2 poster with 7 1/2" x 3" fold back portion at top with instructions for where and how and who may hang this poster of a red cross on a white background with a blue border. Distributed by Am. Red Cross and to be displayed in front window facing street by a Red Cross member. Believed to date to World War 1 but not dated and could be World War 2. Instructions include to be displayed starting Sat. Dec 1 and to be lighted from behind with a candle or flashlight on Mon. Dec. 24th. Folds into 4 sections for mailing. Paper yellowed and torn in 3 places. Also stained by oil in 7 small spots where putty-like adhesive applied for displaying. All printing and main poster intact except for 2 small holes at bottom in border. Note: Dates on poster match 1917 calendar. 12/2016
