A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record.
A five-screen/seven-color silkscreen print on natural linen. A man in overalls and a work shirt stands behind a split rail fence holding a pitch fork in one hand and jug in the other. A shock of wheat, a rooster and a hen are at his feet. Above his head is a sickle, an oxen yoke and a horse weathervane. Across the yoke is a paraphrased quote from Daniel Webster, “WHERE TILLAGE BEGINS ARTS FOLLOW”.
This wallhanging is a pair with Country Woman 263. It was also produced as a framed print.
A wood support and hanging ribbon are glued to the upper back of the print.Made/Created
