Description

1984-1990 HMCS PROVIDER Master Seaman's working jacket made of dark green polyester and rayon fabric. The jacket is single breasted and closes with a black zipper. On the shoulders are shoulder boards which denote the rank of a leading seaman (a corporal). There are breast patch pockets, each closed with a buttoned flap. The buttons are black plastic (1.8 cm diameter). Over the right breast pocket is the ship crest of the HMCS PROVIDER. Underneath the crest is an embroidered patch reading "DUMMIT," the name of the Leading Seaman. The cuffs are adjustable and are closed by one of two black plastic buttons. The inside is unlined. On the collar is a hanging loop. Each side seam has been altered by hand using a running stitch and black thread. The alteration takes in 1.3cm at the waist. By the zipper opening is a pen pocket (that can hold two pens) on either side of the jacket.
