1812-1815 Canadian Militia Flank Company officer's shoulder epaulette B. The top is "T" shaped made of a white (faded into grey) leather base with control stitched (4.2 cm diameter) steel rings linked to 13 smaller (1.5 - 3 cm) steel rings on one wing and 16 smaller (1 - 3 cm diameter) steel rings on the other. On the wing running into the neck, are 9 steel rings (1.7 - 3 cm diameter). The edge of the leather is stitched with a double line of 1 cm wide silver bullion wire edging. The outward shoulder facing has about 87 silver bullion wire spools with at least one missing spool in the back. The spools have faded into black (3.7 cm length by 1 cm diameter). Leather is sewn to red wool backing. The underside of the epaulette is a linen lined with a grey-white wool batting covered in linen.Inscription/Signature/Marks
