1918 1st King Edward's Horse trooper's service dress cap w/badge made of khaki green serge wool on the crown and body. The crown is circular and the body is four-piece construction. Between the body and crown is red piping and a stiffening wire. On either side of the cap are two painted green ventilation grommets (0.8 cm diameter). Red wool felt covers the cap band. The cap badge (3.7 cm x 5.7 cm) denotes the 1st King Edward's Horse regiment. It depicts the Royal crest topped with the King's crown and a lion. Laurel wreaths and scrolls are on either side. Behind the badge, the cap band and body is stiffened with a metal plate on the inside. The chin strap is made of medium brown leather and made adjustable with leather sliders. It attached to the cap with brass buttons (1.3 cm diameter). The peak is made of a medium brown leather and has a lighter brown leather tape sewn along the edge.
The cap is lined with a khaki brown twill cotton or linen fabric. The sweatband is made of a light brown leather and can be adjusted for size with red cording sewn between the leather. The peak is lined with a green material.Use
