Obverse is head of King George VI and title "GEORGIVS VI D G BR OMN REX F IND IMP" Reverse is Royal Crown on oak tree stump flanked by lion and lioness, titles "1939", "1945", and "THE DEFENCE MEDAL" Suspender is plain, straight bar with toe claw, ribbon is green, black, green, orange, green, black, green, 3 x 6 cm. Depicted fifth from the right.
