Description

1936-1941 RAF Type "B" flying helmet. Classic dark brown chrome leather, 13 piece machine-stitched crown/body, vertical panels, plus two distinctive lighter brown zippered earcups for communications receivers. Slit back 13 cm. long with brown leather adjustment strap 3 x 26.5 cm. Right side brown leather chinstrap 2 x 29 cm. Left side brown leather/steel "Bennett" type locking buckle. Interior is light tan chamois with extra padding for earcups. Along lower sides are snap-fastened chamois liner strips above snaps to clip on the Type "D" oxygen mask, each 2.5 x 10.3 cm.
