Detail shows 11 men (1 Officer, two Non-commissioned Officers, 8 men) at trench parapet and operating a "West Spring Gun Grenade Thrower." Men in service dress caps, jackets, trousers, puttees, boots, 1908 pattern webbing equipment [three men & 1 Officer wear diced Balmoral caps]. Men at parapets have four Ross M-10 rifles, 1 Lee-Enfield rifle. Note the 29 stacked grenades near the thrower
