Baus description: "The Mill or North Family House was built in 1838, near the end of the lower lake; west of the present Coventry Rd. At the right of the home is the cheese house. The spring house at the left. On the extreme left, across the bridge over the creek are the horse barns and wagon shed. 
The family consisted of about 50 members in its prime, and looked after the grist and saw mills, beside the stone quarry and other farming. The building[s] were destroyed by fire April 22, 1890
