Plate 692 from Shakers & Kirtland by Louis Baus showing the home of John Caley located near the intersection of Newburgh Road (now South Woodland) and present-day Woodbury Road. The North Union Shaker property stood directly north of the home, across Newburgh Road. In the image, a bicycle rests in front of the house, a dog stands on the walkway leading to the front door, and hitching posts with carriage steps line the roadside.
Baus description: "The home of John Caley stood at the N.E. corner of Woodland and Woodbury Rds., his farm adjoining the property of the old Shakers. After the Shaker property was sold this farm and others were also sold and the building torn down. Mrs. [Sarah Priscilla] Caley was the daughter of Moses Warren, the pioneer after whose name the township was called."Photograph Details
