Plate 48 from from Shakers & Kirtland by Louis Baus showing the ruins of the East Family blacksmith shop. Baus description: "About midway from the broom shop and slightly southeast from the dwelling the family blacksmith ruled with iron. We merely see the ruins; but today, all the kings’ horses, and all the kings men, could never put it together again."
