Warranty deed signed May 9, 1876 from Henry Corlett and Mary Jane Corlett to the trustees of Warrensville Township, Ohio for land surrounding Warrensville East Cemetery, also known as the Manx Cemetery, located in present-day Beachwood. Partial transcription: Know all Men by these Presents, That We Henry Corlett and Mary Jane, his wife of Warrensville Township, Ohio, the grantors, for the Consideration of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) received to our full satisfaction of the Trustees of Warrensville Township, Ohio, the Grantees to Give, Grant, Bargain, Sell and Convey unto the said Grantees, their successors in office, the following described premises: Situated in the township of Warrensville, County of Cuyahoga, and State of Ohio, and known as a part of Lot No. forty eight (48) in said township and surrounding on the south east and north of a cemetery now situated in said Lot 48, and is bounded and described as follows; Beginning at the south west corner of said cemetery; Thence south along the centre of the public road from (4) rods; Thence east parallel with the south line of said cemetery eighteen rods, and three feet; Thence North, parallel with the east line of cemetery, sixteen and one half (16 1/2) rods; Thence west parallel with the north line of the cemetery, eighteen rods and three feet to the centre of the road; Thence south along the centre of the road, to the north west corner of the cemetery two and one half (2 1/2) rods; and containing one acre of Land. This land to be used as an addition to said cemetery and for cemetery purposes.Category
