Whiting Lily flatware estimated to have been made between 1902-1916. Place setting includes two knives, three forks, and three spoons.
Setting was acquired by donors' great-grandparents, Abram and Ray Brown, who married in 1900 and were prominent residents of Cleveland. Abram, an Austrian immigrant, was Vice President and General Manager of the Carey Company, manufacturers of asphalt and asbestos shingles and industrial roofing. The couple lived at 13810 Larchmere Boulevard in the 1930s and at the time of Abram's death in 1937. The Browns' daughter (Iris M. Brown Robertson) and granddaughter lived in Shaker Heights.Acquisition
