Plate 31 from from Shakers & Kirtland by Louis Baus showing a northeast [southeast?] view of the Center Family broom shop along Lee Road.
Baus description: "In 1833 a two story building 30 x 120 ft. was completed for a work shop. It was the only frame building in the colony painted red, the others all being white. It was on the west side of Lee Rd. on the high ground just south of S. Park Blvd. of today, and across the road from the office. It was later divided into three parts; one removed across the road south of the office and formed the boys’ home; one shoved south of the family house, and used for a work shop; the part remaining was the broom shop. View shows n.e. sides, beyond Lee Rd., and old lane now South Park Blvd. at right corner."Photograph Details
