Plate 64 from from Shakers & Kirtland by Louis Baus showing a North Union Shaker man milking a cow near a barn. Numerous other cows surround the man. Baus description: "Their milking methods were also primeval, but besides using their wants, they made it a very profitable industry as well. Their herds were large and well kept."
