Undated negative print depicting Joseph Stoll with the North Union Office clock (see R-578) he purchased from the North Union Shaker auction in 1889. Photograph is most likely from the 1890s or early 1900s. Typewritten across the top: Joseph Stoll & his North Union Clock bought at auction in Dec. 1889 for fifty cents. Handwritten note on verso: Joseph Stoll and N. Union Clock he bought at sale for 50 cents.

Joseph Stoll and his wife Margaret "Alma" Stoll grew up in the North Union Shaker Village. The clock depicted was donated to the Shaker Historical Society by the Stoll's daughter, Alma Seitz, at SHS's first organizational meeting on October 15, 1947.
