Plate 702 from Shakers & Kirtland by Louis Baus showing the Kubach General Store (formerly the Gillette Tavern), built c.1860s-1880, at the northeast corner of Kinsman (now Chagrin) and Lee. Baus dated the photo to 1890 but the land was not sold to Frederick Kubach until 1901. Other copies of photo in collection are dated 1905.
Baus description: "The tavern stood on the N.E. corner of Kinsman and Lee Rd. and at this time was owned by Mr. Kubach. About eight years ago the building was razed and a business block now occupies the site."Photograph Details
