Front view of Stockade Hotel at 63rd and Alki Ave. Constructed of vertical pieces of salvaged driftwood logs from Alki Beach. Once a popular resort hotel, it failed in 1936 and was torn down later. Shows female guests relaxing in chairs out front and on balcony. On left is the birthplace of Seattle pylon, being admired by guests in period attire. First installed in 1905, it was moved to it's present location across the street in 1926.Collection
