Charles F. and Clara E. Cushman with large salmon he caught at the mouth of the Duwamish River with a 6 foot 6 inch trolling pole.
The couple is Charles F. and Clara E. Cushman of South
Park. Charles and Clara built a home in South Park on
Cloverdale Street in 1893. He is listed in Polk's as
a "miner" and later a "watchman" but the photo
descriptions list he and his wife as having a retail
business on their property and adjacent to their home.
They sold live birds, eggs, shovels, tools, pretty
much everything. We have photos of the business,
with he and his wife in front.
The description on the reverse of the photo is
captioned as he and his wife with a large salmon he
caught at the mouth of the Duwamish, with a 6'6"
trolling pole.
The photo is dated 1916-1926.
