Letter from David S. Maynard, in Seattle, to son (Henry Maynard).
Maynard acknowledges son Henry and daughter Frances’ refusal of his offer of land in Seattle. Maynard mentions that if the terminus of the Pacific Railroad is in Seattle there will be land grabbing. Maynard indicates he has no thoughts of moving east and continues to hope that Henry and Frances will come to Seattle.
