Journal of an Overland Journey to Oregon Made in the Year 1849 is the diary of William J. Watson who started his journey west from St. Joseph, MO on May 8, 1849. It one of the rarest titles in the historical literature of the American West. It was lost for a while, but when found Ye Galleon was given permission to make reprints. These reminiscences were written for the private eye of an intimate friend--not necessarily for publication.
