Scope and Content

Andrews, Orrel, Watercolor Painting (framed), that hung in Doll Museum, undated. This painting is a watercolor portrait of Orrel Andrews whose antique doll collection was the founding collection of the Society of Memories Doll Museum. The dolls were sold at auction upon the death of Ms. Andrews. A group of ladies, wanting to preserve these rare and beautiful dolls, held a fund raiser and collected enough money to purchase a few of the dolls. With these dolls, loaned treasures, and gifts, the ladies began what was developed into the Doll Museum. This painting hung in the Society of Memories Doll Museum. Mrs. Orrel Andrews was the founder of the St. Joseph Museum.
