Photo shows Donovan a mature man, seated in chair with high carved back, a toddler in white dress on his knee.
Donovan was a founder of the German American Bank, 7th & Felix, In 1893, he concentrated his efforts as President of St. Joseph Stock Yards Co.. He was successful in encouraging Swift to open a packing plant in St. Joseph and as result the thriving meat packing district was created that lasted until the 1970s. He married Emma Patee, daughter of John Patee of Patee House Hotel.
