Conquest of the Missouri is a re-telling of Grant Marsh's reminiscences by another person. It has all the vigor of a first-hand account of Marsh's experiences in the period between 1864-1883. It tells of the opening of the west along the Big Muddy from the isolation and wilderness to the modern mining and agrecultural region to today.
