Conrad, Agnes: Portraits as Young Woman, 1898-1902. Five studio sittings of Agnes Eugenia Conrad from her high school graduation to the year 1902 when she entered a religious order. Agnes is the youngest child of Thomas & Mary Ivory Conrad. (Also see archives catalog entry 15.22.45 for adult photo of Agnes)
A = Photo of young woman, age 28, bust view in oval, matted. She is wearing her hair up, and a medium color dress with high collar and long sleeves, placated front with tight pleats. b/w. 4 ¼" x 6½". Byarlay Photographer. Handwritten on back: "Agnes Conrad, St. Joseph, Mo. 1902"
B = Same sitting as above, but seated on bench, with hand on low rail. She is wearing shiny blouse with plain straight skirt. b/w. 4 ¼" x 6½". Byarlay Photographer. Label on back: "Agnes Conrad, sister of W.I. Conrad, St. Joseph, Mo. Entered Society of Sacred Heart 1902. Died June 29th, 1964, Menlo Park, Calif."

Photos in family of Thomas Conrad until exhibited at San Diego Women's College where granddaughter, (Mother) Genevieve Clarke, a religious was librarian. Returned to family after College's closing. Donated by g-granddaughter of Thomas Conrad.
