Robidoux Names St. Joseph Street with Arrow Shot, News Article, Dec. 13, 1949. St. Joseph News-Press. Story of the belief that Joseph Robidoux tied the name of each of his family members to an arrow, pulled out an arrow at random from his quiver at every cross street and shot it from his bow. Helpers ran to discover who's name was attached. Thus the streets in the Original town are named after the children, wife, and brothers of the founder. This story is included in the Mrs. H.C. Foulk poem "The Platte Purchase" and in history book, "The Platte Purchase by William E. Spratt.
