Alexander, Holland Wedding Party, 1941. Digital image of a reprint of the 1941 photo in the St. Joseph News Press in 1989. Caption: Mortician marries. Holland Alexander was the only town mortician for the black community and ran the Alexander Funeral Home once located at 21st and Angelique streets. This is Alexander on his wedding day in 1941 when he married the former Zanomia Robinson Duff, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Walter D. Duff of St. Joseph. Holland was the son of William and Mary Alexander. The wedding was held at the bride's home at Lake Contrary and the reception was at the Blue Triangle room at the YWCA where the bride was secretary for years.
