Parker, Louisa, Letter From Benjamin Parker, Ship Island, Mississippi. He was waiting for the Steamer Constitution to arrive with the mail. He started with a private from Company D and two darkeys to go aboard the gunboat Niggar? anchored three miles from the wharf. A fog set in and they got lost. Another boat came along and got them to shore. They expect the Steamer Massachusetts to start for Boston tomorrow. Cal Jones ran a flag that came off the Constitution, the flag was mostly white with a red border around it and the name Constitution in blue thru the middle. The general ordered Cal Jones not to raise it anymore it would look like a rebel flag a good distance off. He thinks there is trouble between General Butler and General Andrews.
