Civil War Letter: Parker, Benjamin from Franklin, Louisiana Letter to sister Louisa, 1864 .The weather was nice, The trees were green all year round. A thick green moss grows on all the trees. It covers all the branches. It is used to fill mattresses. The cavalry bought in 12 rebs and 300 head of cattle. They have a large number of dogs and one kitten.
