Description

Holy Warriors, a poem by Conger Beasley, Jr. An epic poem described as "Long ago in a time when magic ruled the world, a band of Celtic monks sailed their primitive curraghs from Europe to the New World. They were looking for a place where they could worship God in their own personal way, out of reach of both murderous Norsemen and arrogant High-Church officials. After a journey lasting three years, they found a congenial place in the center of a vast continent adjacent to a native village inhabited by a people called the Deighans. There, they began the daunting process of melding their luminous perceptions with the natural wonders of this strange new landscape. Their story is both tragic and hopeful." Autographed by author on title page. Conger Beasely, Jr. was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, and was educated in New York City. He was a college professor, political speech writer, and publications editor. He lived in Kansas City. He has authored at least a dozen books, and short stories, many on the American West. He co-wrote "Zero Dark Thirty" which became a movie. 82/Softboun92
