Included are chapters on the need for faster mail service; establishing the Pony Express; the riders; the horses, saddles and mochilas; troublemakers and other difficulties. There is also a list of illustrations and an Index. This book is No. 151 of an edition limited to 200 numbered and signed copies. It is autographed by the author and was donated by John G. Hoff. A colorful map of the Pony Express route April 3, 1860 - October 24, 1861 is included in the back of the book. Also included are notes on the book by Jackie Lewin.
