Description

Dizzy Dean in St. Joseph Photo, 1930's. b/w. Photo of Dizzy Dean, professional baseball pitcher with St. Louis Cardinals, and later a sports broadcaster. In this photo, taken in a war season, he is wearing a white shirt, sleeves rolled past the elbow and trousers. He is standing in front of an unidentified building, with thermometer attached. Car in the street is of 1930 style, but the handwritten label indicates "Dizzy Dean, 1980's (maybe overwritten 1930). St. Joseph, Mo." Dean died in 1974. It is not known why this photo was included with the Interurban archives belonging to Ed Gentry.
