Drummers Semi-Pro Baseball Team Photo, c. 1904. Five members of baseball team in uniform but without caps. "Drummer" displayed over front of uniform. Unidentified except notation on back that refers to back row left man as Dick Drain. The date of the photo is uncertain but the Drummers appeared in news articles from about 1910-1916.
Drain also appears in 2020.2.6 with the May Queen Nine. There is a news photo with Dick Drain as 3rd baseman of the Brandow Team in St Joseph News-Press, August 3, 1903. In 1904 Drain appears on the roster of the Wyeth Team and then the Famous Team.
The Drummers were a semi-pro team owned/managed by Jack Holland, which were reported on in the St. Joseph News-Press & Gazette from 1910-1916, as appearing in St. Joseph before crowds of up to 5000. Various names of team members appear in news reports over the years.
