Description

Journey to Justice The Wintu People and the Salmon is an exhibition in the Turtle Bay Exploration Park, a Native American Interpretive Center, on the banks of the Sacramento River, near Redding, California, covering 300 acres along that river. The exhibit interprets the complex relationships between the people and their natural and cultural resources. It follows the development of the Wintu people from their homeland and the adjustments made as the Great Central Valley Water Project, which created Shasta Dam, impacted their lives and habitats. The exhibit was created with collaboration of descendans of the Wintu, Pit River, and Yana tribes. 141/Softbound/Illustrations/Maps/Photographs.
