Framed, oval portrait under glass of infant Grace Wenonah Seiberling. Child's head and hint of collar of blouse/dress portrayed. Child's head turned to viewer's left, head tilted at downward angle. Hair is parted in center and is short, light brown, and curly. Child's left ear is visible under hair on viewer's right. Child's eyes are deep blue. She has round rosy cheeks, pale, thin light brown eyebrows, small slightly open mouth, pink lips, and a small round nose. Tilt of head creates shadows on face. Face primarily illuminated from viewer's right side, Wide ruffled-edged collar under chin is white with gray shadows, Mixture of blue and gray shading around child's head and shoulders in watercolor brushstrokes.Artwork Details

Grace Wenonah Seiberling, born on August 4, 1901 at Cedar Lodge and died March 26, 1902, was the Seiberling's youngest daughter and sixth child.
Artist Addison Tresize Sauders (1856-1939) worked with his two brothers William and George at Saunders Portrait Co. in Akron, OH. Addison was also an amateur magician and portrait painter.Created By
