General Notes

Note

This image is slightly different from SHH 11.903 with some figures in slightly different positions: Minnie Penfield has closed her fan and rests it on her lay and Irene is turned sideways looking at camera. There was also a stereopticon slide take at the same time SHH 11.77 which is the exact same image, yet crops off some of the people at each side. In this image some identification of costumed figures was done by Franklin Seiberling, Jr.: in center is Gertrude Seiberling on throne as Queen Elizabeth; below her seated on floor is F.A. Seiberling as Marc Anthony and he turns to look at Mrs. Huber as Cleopatra who is at left reclining on floor; behind Mrs. Huber is Mrs. Vaniman in unidentified role; to left of Mrs. Huber is Minnie Penfield, wife of Raymond Penfield and sister-in-law of Gertrude in unknown role; directly behind Minnie is Elena Barron of Rye, NY who was a Paris school mate of Irene's in unidentified role; to the right of Elena is Louis W. Penfield as Lord Chamberlain; to the right of Louis is A. "Abe"" Waters a school friend of Willard's who also developed the name for Stan Hywet Hall and he is dressed as a jester; to his right on floor is Irene Seiberling dressed as Titania; between Abe and Irene is James Swinegert (? Franklin's penmanship) or Jim Swofford who was a room mate of Willard's; to the right of Irene is Julia McBride who is dressed as Peasblossom; behind Julia is Virginia Seiberling who is dressed a Puck; to the right of Gertrude seated is Mrs. Barron, mother of Elena; behind Mrs. Barron is Cecil Fanning dressed as the Earl of Essex or Lord-in Waiting; to right of Cecil is Aunt Glendora Hough, one of Gertrude's sisters; all other individuals have yet to be identified.
