My dear Mrs Seiberling
Your lovely letter came Saturday morning- and gave me a feeling of joy- you have given me more such happy feelings than any other person in Akron- and I have only been afraid that I would ask too much of you- for I know how full your life is and how necessary to so many people. You may be sure that I want to visit you and when I can plan with George I’ll let you know. Our plans are rather uncertain but I think that if everything goes as we wish it I will spend the first week in August with you at Cedar Lodge. and then go to visit Mrs Chase. So we can talk over many things. One of them is when did you hear that I was to sing in the Methodist Church. I am not and am engaged for a year at the Episcopal Church.
The concert comes at just the wrong time for me. So I will have to decline to sing. I will probably be in bed and that is not the best time to sing. So please make my excuses to the Club. You are the one to sing anyhow. You have not sung one half that you should have this winter. I was happy in the thought that I was to hear you – my sister and Father send you their love. I do wish you could see this pretty little home and taste some of Kits good cooking. We do have such fun together. Though it has been very warm for a few days. A thunderstorm brought a change.
The concert sounds fine. I will see you before that time- with many many thanks and lots of love
Yours truly-
Anna Jones Rankin.
