RenumberDescription
Typewritten 5 page letter on Charles S. Schneider letterhead from Charles Schneider to Gertrude Seiberling regarding andirons, fire screen and lanterns with no specifics on which room they were intended for. There is also confirmation from the Hayden company on the inscription in the entry hall, "Welcome as they need may be Find here Gladness, Happiness, Peace, Sanctuary." with a handwritten note from Schneider "Don't quite understand this. Is it right?" with an arrow pointed at Sanctuary. He is still awaiting a decision on the coat-of-arms. He states the Reception Room and North Gallery look fine "although the latter is quite plain." He also states they are starting on the Billiard Room and Frederick's and Willard's room is well along. He mentions his disappointment in the lack glass used in the windows, which he has mentioned in a previous letter and that if the "strongest" ones were removed, the rest might appear all right. He implies that he had spoken with Huber about it and his silence indicated he did not care for it either. He mentions he is glad Lady Barry allowed the Great Hall windows to be copied. The Music Room ceiling is going on but work is very slow. He is expecting the woodwork for Penfield's room and guest room "G" to be sent soon. The Solarium woodwork will also be sent before long. He mentions that he is awaiting response on several matters and hopes Gertrude can reply before she leaves Hessel, knowing she will be busy with Huber visiting. A last note is mentioned about a discussion with Huber about Irene's request to make her wardrobes air tight with rubber but Huber says that is not possible. Signed in pen "Regards to all, Charles S.
