September 20, 1946 Mrs M W Harrison 56 Highland Circle Bronxville, N Y My Dear Irene: Responding to your letter of the 19th, I enclose check for $225. to Syracuse University, and $69.65 to Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. These will take care of Sally’s college entrance, as I understand it. The payments of the fall months we will dispose of a little later and, as you suggest, I had better make it one account so that you can handle the details month by month. I am at the moment under a cloud. My Brother died at 12:44 this morning on account of thrombosis of the heart. No one in the family apparently knew that he was having heart trouble, though it now develops that five years ago his doctor discovered that he was being afflicted with angina. The family are arranging for a funeral next Monday to be held at the Lutheran Church which will be overcrowded with the friends from different public institutions with whom Charlie has had fraternal contact. Of course we would all be pleased if you could be present not later than Monday morning, but if not convenient we know that you will be present in spirit. Will not writemore [sic] at present, but hope to see you before the month ends. Have had Marion and her fiance [sic], Edward McDougal, as our guests for two days and all hands enjoyed the outing. They departed last night for New York. Affectionately Dad F A Seiberling gb
