My Dear Irene:
Your note written from the Union League Club is interesting and cheerful reading.
You certainly had a fine trip while up in the air and were happily received by Milton when you landed on terra firma; but of course, being born on the 12th - Lincoln’s birthday – he could have been in no other mood.
Now don’t shed any tears over Miss Elsie Chandler. She came into my room unannounced last night and I had to quiet her by accepting her touch on both feet, but please don’t try to regulate her in the future, as I am going to be able to dispense with her services.
You have the correct idea as to my night prowling; having no invitations that I had to accept, and I intend to put up the bars on substantially all of them.
The house is running smoothly, Mrs Daley making a trip to Oberlin today but returns this evening. I only hope that she will be happy while with us, and will not expect her to deprive herself of meeting her friends on occasional trips to Oberlin and Cleveland.
We are having perfect weather here today and within another month will doubtless see growth of green spring verdure which will be very welcome.
Affectionately
Dad
F A Seiberling
