Letter #12 Akron, Ohio
Nov. 9, 1954
Dear Family:
On November 24, the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving Day, you will be able to resume your travels with the Seiberling-Davis troupe.
On Saturday, October 9, we took you on the first half of our European trip as far as Nuremberg, as covered by our family letters #1 to #7. Now we must get you back to the U.S.A. So don’t miss the last half of our trip, as covered in letters #7 through #10.
We’ll follow the same general procedure as before, with the family arriving at Stan Hywet at 5:45 p.m.
During the Cocktail Hour we’ll visit the romantic, medieval town of Rothenburg. At Würzburg we’ll go through the mighty fortress that was impregnable for several centuries. We’ll visit the inviting castle of Mespelbrunn where members of the Mespelbrunn family have lived continuously since the castle was built back in 1412. Then, before going to dinner, we shall call on our Seiberling relatives in Gernsbach. Our visit with the Carl Seiberlings was the high point of our trip, so don’t miss this part of the show that comes before dinner.
After dinner you will go down the Rhine by steamer and come back by car, visiting castles and ruins along both banks. You will visit the old towns of Miltenberg, Michelstadt and Heidelberg. On the way back to Switzerland you will drive through the famous Schwarzwald. Then, after I have flown home, Anne and Rees will take you on their trip through France and into Spain.
Please use the coupon below to let us know if we may count on you as travelling companions for the last half of our trip.
