Description

Looking from South Terrace to Garman Road, wide allee between rows of tall, branchy (sycamore?) trees in full leaf. Allee begins in foreground across entire bottom of canvas and ends at center left midground. The end is an undefinable lighter green and some blue. Trees visible all the way to end on right side but not on left. Behind trees are an abundance of fuschia and white rhododendrons in full bloom. They extend to end of allee. Small patches of sky visible at top of canvas. Two long, dark blue shadows lie across allee at center.

This is one of 25 paintings used in the 2008 exhibit "A Period of Perspective - The Art of Gertrude Penfield Seiberling" in the Music Room at Stan Hywet. The majority of these paintings were not framed, and some weren't on stretchers. Thus, new frames were added for the exhibit by Akron Center for Art & Framing, 1915 W. Market St, Akron, OH. Exhibited Akron Art Museum, March 17-May 20, 1990, "Toward a New [ill.]: The Warren Manning Plan for Stan Hywet." Hung in the CEO's office in the Wolle Building around 2001. Restoration in 1990 and 2007 by ICA, Cleveland, OH
