Unfinished, view of ruined temple; looks Egyptian. Column at left has four segments. Done in yellows with purple shadows showing where flutes are. A single column segment, done in dark orange, sits to the right of tall column. To the right is the temple. Front facade: a tall, thick, squared door is set in a prominent wall. Above it is an overhand made by a platform on a smaller base with three decorations on its face. Another piece of column stands before the door, in center midground. Next is a recessed wall. To its left is another prominent wall extending into the center left of canvas. The side facade stretches away from the door-wall off the right side of canvas. In the center-left background are four stone masses in front of an area of greenery and some taller palm trees. The foreground is done in patches of green, purple and light yellows. The sky is a bright sky blue.Type of Painting
