Gelatin dry plate glass negative. Five young male students wearing suits in a Princeton University's dorm participate in Poler's Recess. Four men sitting fire a pistol, revolver or shotgun (using blank cartridges) either out of a window, up in the air, or at one another. Willard Penfield Seiberling added gun powder smoke effect with black ink or marker to three of the four guns. Man with black top hat sitting in a wicker chair in center poses for picture. One young man with glasses stands playing a horn to the left. An open box of blank cartridges(?) rests on edge of bed near man's right leg to the left. Man sits on chair(?) next to desk (a book and papers on top) at far right. Native American rugs in foreground. Two windows (center window opened) with curtains pulled to the side (curtains held down by a revolver on shelf) in background. Framed portrait of man's head hangs between the two windows (same portrait of man and curtains visible in SHH 2000.528R and SHH 2000.532R). Two revolvers rest on molding against ""Poler's recess"" prints.
