Grassy area surrounds group, body of water beyond group with strip of land at horizon. Woman is Nellie Racey Koger (b. 1904) who was the Seiberling's cook at Stan Hywet Hall. Handwritten on back in ink "Help getting things/ ready for a picnic on/ the island/ Mick/ Mother - Nellie Koger/ Mildred? came along/ from house staff/ man bending down/ could have been Raymond/ Micks son/ 1942".

Modern print given to Stan Hywet by Eleanor Rastetter, Morgantown, W. Va., daughter of Nellie Koger, the Seiberling's cook, who traveled to Hessel with the Seiberling's in the summer of 1942 and was permitted to bring her two children with her, Eleanor and Jimmy. Eleanor celebrated her 13th birthday that summer in Hessel.
