Note

Gertrude traveled to Italy twice in 1935, once in March/April on a tourist trip with F.A. to see sites around the Mediterranean and visit Franklin who was living abroad and the second time in September when she sailed over to pick up Franklin who was seriously ill and bring him back to Akron.

Note

This painting was listed as one of 25 paintings to be used in the 2008 exhibit "A Period of Perspective - The Art of Gertrude Penfield Seiberling" in the Music Room at Stan Hywet. However, since the painting was not framed, it is highly likely that it was not used in the exhibit.
