This colourful image is a view across hayfields to hills at Woodwyn Farm in Saanich which was returned to the Tsartlip First Nation by the Province of B.C. in 2020. Saanich is a district municipality on Vancouver Island within the Greater Victoria area. The landscape is painted in broad strokes and divided roughly in thirds from bottom to top, golds, greens and blues.Type of Painting

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Born in Finland, Christel Tompa is a Canadian painter known for her still-life and landscape works, now mostly in watercolour. Tompa arrived in Canada in the mid 1970s. Her early work was done in Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Hungary.
