Chinese-born and a longtime resident of Victoria, B.C., Stephen Won Hung Lowe (1938-1975) was a successful painter and gallery owner. Lowe was a exponent of the “Lingnan school,” a progressive and atmospheric style of painting that is a distinct artistic expression of South China.
