ARTIST BIOGRAPHY Born in Keelby, Lincolnshire, England, Clive Richard Browne was a painter of landscapes mainly in oil, and also a teacher of art. He attended St John’s College, York, and studied at the Grimsby Art School of Art and privately with the North Lincolnshire landscape artist Herbert Rollet (1872-1932). Browne was a life member of the North Lincolnshire Art Society and the Lincolnshire Artists’ Society. He exhibited widely in England, Scotland, Ireland and in Paris, such as at the Royal Academy Paris Salon, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. The Usher Gallery, Lincoln holds examples of his work. For many years he lived at Waltham, Lincolnshire, later at Horsforth, Yorkshire.
